Tanzania terminates corruption?

President and vice president of Tanzania.

Dr. John Pombe Magufuli steams ahead as new elected president. With the conviction that the government and public officials' first task should be to serve the people "The Bulldozer", a nickname since past efforts as minister, has in a few months slashed public spendings sharply by:

Stopping foreign travel in large groups with riotous living. All international travel requires the approval of the  president personally.
Dismissing top managers of the Dar es Salaam port accused of serious corruption
Dismissing the chairman of the anti-corruption agency because of "poor performance and irresponsible acts."
Dismissing the Tax authory manager

The list goes on but it is clear that the party group in CCM that has taken over after Kikwete's team seems to have the intention to seriously fight corruption and instead use the money to lift people.

Another positive development is that Samia Suluhu Hassan became Tanzania's first female vice-president.

We wish them good luck and hope Magufuli has good bodyguards.
